A Strong Pickup

I blogged my thoughts about the Biden pick on the The New Republic site.

Bottom line: Hillary aside, Biden was the best possible pick for Obama.

    Obama picked the closet thing to McCain he could find.
    Biden=9,500 votes? (that is what I have heard)
    Clinton= 18 mil. + plus votes
    Obama/Biden= Obama’s Ego= McCain win

    I didn’t want him to pick her. If she had been his VP I still would not have voted for him. We don’t vote for VP. No VP pick will give Obama experience.

    Obama = No experience + bad judgment = loser

    Hillary was my choice too but I think her attacks on Obama during the primary made that impossible. We would have seen endless loops of “Shame on you, Barack Obama” and “He’s not a Muslim…that I know of” in McCain ads. While some of that is inevitable when primary opponents are chosen for veep candidate, the stuff she said was just too combustible.
